Are barbers born or is barbershop an acquired skill?
If there is a profession in which legacy and tradition seem to be important, it is that of the barber. When we are looking for a barbershop, there are many things that can catch our attention and make us decide. The space itself, the price, the barber's treatment... All of them are factors that have a common denominator, the barber himself. And these can vary if the profession has been learnt since early childhood.
If there is one thing we know for sure, it is that a barber is not just someone who does beard or hair trimming. A real barber is the one who shows real passion from the first moment to the last. When you come from a family of barbers, it is easier to know all the secrets of the profession, and dealing with the client becomes more natural. On the other hand, if you have chosen to go the barbering route, you may not have the same fluency, but if you have chosen this profession, it is because you really have a passion for it.
We have seen many barbers repeat the same process for many years, without ever achieving success, while other professionals, in much less time, managed to transmit that energy that defines true master barbers. So, to the question of whether a barber is born or made, what is the answer? What we think is that this is not the most important thing. Doing a job well doesn't depend so much on experience or tradition, but on passion, the desire to learn, to improve and to innovate.
Brosh was born from that same passion, that energy with which we live the barbershop was the first stone that built the brand we are today, and the one we try to transmit in each of our products. So don't worry if you don't have a family legacy of barbers, or if you won't be able to live up to it. Your motivation, your enthusiasm, and if you want, our products on your shelf, are all you need to create a unique barbershop.
