Brosh barbers in this new era: Chan Martinez

From Brosh we want to show you the testimonies of our barbers, so we can show how this new reality is from their perspective, and understand the difficulties they face every day. Now, we want to tell you about the case of the Chan Martínez barbershop, the Spanish ambassador of Brosh Pomade.

The state of alarm

When the state of alarm began, uncertainty and nerves took over. The situation was new for all of us: we were confined to our homes and we could never have imagined the amount of time it finally lasted. 50 days with the doors of the barbershop closed, with hardly any help, with the customers wanting to dress up as usual, and with a great feeling of helplessness. Chan was able to make a virtue of the problem, and took the opportunity to do online courses, and prepare for the new system he would have to implement in the barbershop.

The situation after the confinement

After those long 50 days of confinement, the barbershop was able to reopen, and fortunately, customers responded, with a large influx during the first month and a half. The system changed to meet safety standards. There was only one customer per worker, and there could only be 3 customers in the barbershop. The atmosphere became rarer, as there could not be a large number of people having a coffee or chatting. But another effect of the confinement was that Chan and his team returned, stronger than ever. After that first month and a half, customers have continued to come regularly to his barbershop, which guarantees a safe process, complying strictly with hygiene protocol, and of course, with the guarantee of quality that Brosh products mean in such capable hands.

What measures have been taken?

Chan's barbershop has taken a number of decisions to ensure the safety of customers. First of all, the standards that are compulsory for everyone: mask always on, and at least two meters between chairs. In addition to this, customers may not be accompanied, unless they are minors. A hair wash must be done before the cut, and of course, cleaning and disinfection between customers.

These measures have affected the day-to-day running of the barbershop, as they take more time and effort from the whole team. Gloves, masks and disinfectants accumulate in the business and the responsibility of each one is the most important thing. However, this does not prevent Chan Martínez from remaining strong and optimistic, with the firm expectation of continuing to see his barbershop grow, and to continue learning and offering the best cuts and styles, with Brosh products on his shelf.
